Hi, I'm Jo
Massage Therapist & Educator
At my clinic in Olympia, I create a safe and inclusive environment to help you reconnect with your body and reduce physical and emotional pain.
Every body tells a story. Listen to yours. I can help.
Specializing in myofascial techniques working with LGBTQ+, grief & trauma response, and injury treatment.
We begin by discussing your goals for the session. Typically sessions are clothed and 90 minutes. At the end of your session, we will discuss how to move forward with your treatment plan.
Although some minor discomfort may be felt it is often a surprise how relaxing such methodical work can be. Active techniques challenge clients to create fuller awareness of the role they play in their own treatment. Please inform me if anything makes you uncomfortable, either physically or psychologically.
My name is Jo Elan (they/them). I’m a white, non-binary, queer person. I am autistic, body-positive, trans-affirming, and trauma-informed. I graduated from the former Somerset School of Massage Therapy, received my advanced training & neuromuscular certification with Kristen Curnan LMT BCTMB, and have been licensed in Washington state since 2011.
Besides my work at the clinic, I teach Massage Theory & Practice at Bodymechanics School of Massage & Myotherapy. I take great delight in each class I teach, extending the reach of positive touch as a tool for practical change in our challenging world.
